A 3-dimensional image provides diagnostic information crucial for dental implant therapy, oral pathology or to investigate tooth and bone related concerns. A Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CbCT) scan for your jaws may be needed to obtain important information that cannot be seen on traditional x-ray imaging.
Your dentist and periodontist will work together to review your current radiographs and determine if a 3D CbCT image is required.
The digital scan will take approximately 20 seconds to complete and the information will be reviewed with you at the time of the appointment.
Once obtained, the information will be reviewed with your dentist, as well as a dental radiologist for assessment.
